The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for the living, not the deceased. It is no longer called “extreme unction” or “last rites.” This Sacrament is meant for those who are sick and suffering in mind, body, or spirit.
If you are going in for an operation, find out you have a disease (physical or psychological), suffering from an addiction, get rushed to the hospital for an emergency, or your health is declining, please call the rectory and one of the priests would be more than happy to come and offer you this sacrament of healing.
It’s important that you call the Parish Office yourself or ask the hospital chaplain to call us. We can also come to your home and offer the sacrament or you can come to the Parish Office or church. This sacrament can be received more than once and should not be delayed until death is imminent.
