Welcome to St. Anastasia Parish

St. Anastasia has been an important part of the Waukegan community since 1926.  We are located on the northeast side of Waukegan, less than a mile from beautiful Lake Michigan. We have 850 parishioner families and 218 students at the school.

Our soup kitchen and food pantry programs serve the needy in our community weekly.   Hundreds come to St. Anastasia for food, support, and clothing. We are known throughout Lake County as generous and  compassionate with our guests.  “In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35).

We have joined efforts with our neighboring parish, St. Dismas, for our youth religious education program and have 125 students enrolled.

Our parishioners serve the church, school and parish through many of our ministries such as Youth Ministry, Family-School Association, Holy Name Society, Friends of the Parish, Women’s Club, Hispanic Ministry, Knights of Columbus, RCIA, Bible Study groups in English and Spanish, and Shawl Ministry.

As you drive along Glen Flora Avenue, you cannot miss the impressive facade of our school built in 1926.  The original portion of this building housed what is today our school gymnasium and what was originally the church. You will also see above the rooftop of the school, the terra cotta colored arches of our current church built in 1963. Our church is regularly visited by students, architectural experts, and tours to experience its unique design.
