Immigration Weekend

September 8 - 9, 2018

This weekend of September 8–9 across the Archdiocese of Chicago, we will reflect as a people of faith on immigration and the plight of immigrants and refugees arriving in our nation. Government officials and our elected representatives have the responsibility to develop sound and humane policies and regulations that reflect the values of our great nation. Beyond policies for immigration, however, there are immigrants and refugees, real people like us who deserve our attention, concern, and care. They are men, women, and children, many of whom are desperately fleeing the violence of their home countries.
What does this mean? And, practically speaking, what can we do? These are the questions will take up as we listen to the word of God and pray for enlightenment.
