Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers serve as extraordinary ministers to the celebration of the Mass by assisting the priests in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. The ministers are trained in the rubrics of the mass and are directed by the parish priests of any liturgical changes affecting the distribution of the Eucharist.

The goal of the ministry is to prepare selected parishioners  so that through training they are able to administer with confidence, respect and reverence the Eucharist under both species.

St. Anastasia parish LibraryHere are two titles by author Joseph F. Girzone. Continuing his series on Joshua, the stranger who enters people’s lives with amazing results, Girzone gives us Joshua and the Children , an easy read, in which Joshua enters an ordinary village beset by senseless violence. His influence , first on the children of the village, soon spreads to the adults and everyone is changed by Joshua and his kindness, gentleness and compassion.

St. Anastasia Parish LibraryIn The Parables of Joshua, Girzone re-examines many of Jesus’ parables by reviving the timeless messages behind them and “ dressing them in modern clothes “, presenting them through Joshua in a conversational style that resonates with modern readers.

Jim Ratajczyk, parish librarian, reviews books and multimedia items on the topic of faith and living each month.
