Holy Name Society

St. Anastasia Holy Name Society The Holy Name Society was one of the first organizations to be established when St. Anastasia became a parish. Although a group devoted to the spiritual formation of the men of the parish, the Holy Name Society is also involved in social activities, such as golf outings, ball games and the parish picnic.

Community outreach is a large part of the Holy Name activities, including ecumenical efforts like assisting in the Salvation Army's Christmas collection programs. In short, the Holy Name Society is basic to St. Anastasia parish.

While there have been lean times for the Society, over the years, the recent past has shown this to be a vibrant and integral part of the parish life. Because of the dedicated and forceful leadership of past-president, Pat Clyne, the Holy Name Society endured and continues to prospers.

Joseph Asma – President
Peter August – Secretary CFO
Steve Scuglic – Vice President

The Holy Name Society meets periodically, hosts breakfast sessions that feature guest speakers, and host the annual Super Bowl Party for everyone in the parish.

Mission Statement: The apostolate of the society is to assist in parish ministries by performing the Corporal Works of Mercy: to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, tend the sick, visit those in prison, and bury the dead; as well as the Spiritual Works of Mercy: to convert sinners, instruct the ignorant, counsel the wayward, comfort the sorrowing, bear adversity patiently, forgive offenses, and pray for the living and the dead.
