Soup Kitchen

A star in the outreach activities of St. Anastasia is the Monday night soup kitchen. This projects, started by the late Gerry Crowder, offers delicious and nourishing suppers all year long to the hungry of the area not only of the parish. In addition, the people who participate in soup kitchen as helpers or recipients share a generous community spirit. Literally dozens of volunteers work to provide resources, gather food from many places, prepare and serve meals and clean the kitchen and the hall. This Christian work is largely under direction of Kay Jansen. As  many as one hundred fifty dinners are served each Monday night and enjoyed by a grateful multitude

St. Anastasia's Soup Kitchen continues today and is dedicated to serving those in need in our local community a nutritious meal every Monday evening in the Church Hall. To accomplish their goal, Soup Kitchen chairperson, Kay Jansen, and her team work all week long.
